American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) has announced its collaboration with the US Department of Energy (DOE) to advance the development of a skilled workforce in the battery and electric vehicle (EV) sectors. As part of this initiative, ABTC has introduced a new category focused on Design for Recyclability within the Battery Workforce Challenge, a three-year competition aimed at collegiate and vocational engineering students.
This challenge will support 12 university teams across North America, along with their regional vocational partners, to foster innovation and practical solutions in battery technology. The inclusion of the Design for Recyclability category emphasizes the importance of sustainable practices in battery manufacturing and recycling, aligning with the growing demand for environmentally friendly technologies.
By engaging students in real-world applications and encouraging collaboration between educational institutions and industry leaders, this partnership aims to cultivate a new generation of engineers equipped to meet the evolving needs of the battery and EV industries.
