A new slate of courses at Brentwood High School is designed to directly engage students and equip them with critical skills for an evolving world. Principal Jason Olexa announced the upcoming offerings, which strategically blend foundational technology with practical life and career readiness.
The new classes include AI Foundations, Intro to Computer Science, and an expanded Digital Art II program. Alongside these tech-centric courses, the school is introducing Music Theory and a substantially revamped Personal Finance class. This combination reflects a holistic approach to modern education.
“All of these classes help bridge the gap between the classroom and the real world,” Olexa stated. He emphasized that the curriculum is responsive to both student interest and workforce trends. The AI course will demystify a transformative technology, while the updated finance class promises hands-on lessons in budgeting, investing, and economic literacy. The goal is to provide every student, regardless of their post-graduation path, with tangible knowledge and adaptable skills. This initiative marks a significant step in preparing Brentwood's students not just for college, but for informed citizenship and success in a rapidly changing digital economy.
